From heavily embellished izaars, graceful dresses, hand loom kurtas to velvet shawls, Zohra Alam melds styles to create a range that is staggering in its uniqueness.
Unusual colour combinations are our forte. Deep maroon with lime green, midnight blue and baby pink – we make it work with sophistication. Every colour palette is represented – delights in sky blues, lemon yellows and aqua greens hang alongside jewels of emerald green, ruby red, sapphire blue and gold. The entire Pantone range is incorporated in our collection as well as classic black and off-white.
The impeccably crafted embroidery appears to have been placed by a gentle sleight of hand rather than hours of exacting handwork. Asymmetric capes are worked in antique, bronze gota. Culottes are made distinct with dabka and zardozi. Our singular 3D embroidery incorporates layers of thread, beadwork, sequins, cut dana and traditional details. Shawls are accented with tassels of pearls, handmade flowers and motifs.
We have made the common izaar a signature piece of our collections. The pajamas are made in every luxury fabric and have become synonymous with Zohra Alam. Further, we have revolutionized the traditional shalwar, adapting it into a modern kharri shalwar.
Our pret line is all about fusion – blocks of colours, interesting necklines and exclusive prints. We are bold, daring and can smoothly blend old-school with funk. We have reinvented and reintroduced long length kurtas. These can include fine cutwork on the chaak, a pocket picked out in gold zarri or an unexpected yet flattering cut.
Miniature Moghul paintings and Turkish tiles and pottery are the inspiration behind our digital prints. The dashing retro shirts show hours of detailed design work and the harmony of image and shade.
